FEASTS AT HERRINGSTON

Flames and Feasts is pleased to announce the launch of a new dining experience in partnership with the Herringston Estate.

Join us for a magical evening around the house and grounds. From the beguiling charms of the walled garden, to the peaceful lawns, vibrant wildflower meadows and native woodlands beyond. We are offering a real taste of the world the Estate inhabits.

The evening will be tailored to the season, with drinks, canapΓ©s and supper served between the house, gardens and woodland. Early and late season events will make more use of the dining room and hall.

Nestled between the South Dorset Ridgeway and the Winterborne River, Herringston is a grade 2* listed Tudor manor, which has been in the Williams family since 1513.  The site however, has been lived and farmed for many centuries before this. The Winterborne river flows through the gardens and surrounding water meadows. The Estate supports both arable and pastural agriculture and is proud to nurture the ancient trees & new woodlands that continue to wield their magic.

From May onwards, we will be offering tickets to a monthly evening to honour the changing of the seasons. Celebrating the abundance of local produce, botanicals and fauna all around, from field, to hedgerow and onto the fires before touching your plate. Supper will be prepared and cooked over live fire. Flames and Feasts will talk through the process of the food from ember to eating.

Questions

What is your wet or cold weather plan?

We hope the weather will allow an amazing outdoor adventure but we also want to have a plan for a wetter/cold evening. Herringston House itself will open its doors to guests with drinks in the spectatular drawing rooms and supper in the dining room and the conservatory surrounded by history.

What do I wear?

This is a spectacular event that could be indoors or outdoors depending on the weather so we ask guests to bring layers and suitable footwear for both inside and out. When it is outdoors, there will be a fire to gather round to warm up.

How much walking is involved?

There is some walking around the estate to experience the full offering of Feasts at Herringston. Please be aware that you might be walking through a garden, woodland and possibly along the odd field margin.

Can I sit with my group of friends or family?

Yes we can put you all together for the duration of the supper but the tables are beautiful
long tables so it will be a sociable experience.

I want to come as a couple how would that work?

We will of course sit you together but this is very much a sociable dining experience on long tables.

Will there be loos?

We will have loos nearby at all points during the evening, and bathrooms in the house.
